Always The Harpist, Never The Bride...

Are you staying home on Valentine's Day?

Single? Part of a happy couple but just not fussed on all that going out/commercial stuff?

A couple of years back, I did a slightly gin-soaked alternative Fringe gig in my house via the internet, and I had a whale of a time.

Apparently, so did my audience! Here's what some of them said:

"Katherine‪, just caught your last piece. You clearly adore the harp and playing it. Really moving to watch."

"Oh Katherine it was amazing! I've never actually seen anyone play the harp - it was beautiful. I missed the beginning but the two at the end were made my hairs on my arm stand up on end."

"I think all of us who listened today look forward to more online shows from you, when you're able. Especially those of us who don't have the chance to see you in person. :) "

And so here I am doing another one, on the theme of love this time.

And you're invited!

When is it?

Valentine's Day - Wed Feb 14th at 9pm (GMT)

What is it?

It's a harp concert, performed via Facebook Live, which means you watch via the internet. That's right, you don't even need to leave your house!

I'll be playing a few tunes, singing a song and telling some silly stories so I'm not stuck home alone on Valentine's Day.

I spend many a weekend playing some of the most romantic music on the planet for other peoples' weddings, and yet I am a single girl still looking for Mr Right.

You might think that sounds a bit depressing, but I actually really love my job and I'd love to play you some of my favourite tunes and tell you what I love about them.

How do I access that then?

All you need is an internet connection, and just before 9pm GMT, go to my Facebook page:

If you sign up via the link at the bottom of the page, I'll email you a wee reminder.

What do I need to do?

Keep an eye on my Facebook page / Twitter / Instagram and I'll remind you over the next couple of days, and just before the gig.

What should I bring/wear?

Well, you're in the comfort of your own home, so you can wear whatever you like. But I'd suggest your favouritest comfiest pyjamas.

Bring your favourite snacks and a drink of whatever you fancy. If you have pets, get cosy with them ready for 9pm.

I'd encourage you to wear a pair of shoes you'd never normally get the chance to wear, and I'll tell you why during the gig.

Here are mine:

Sparkly gold 4 inch heels with a red bow.

Deeply impractical.

They were in the sale at Kurt Geiger. I had a red dress to wear for my Christmas concert. Sold!

But it's Valentine's Day, I've had enough of all the soppy stuff and there's still a couple of days to go!

I might be persuaded to share a few dating stories, and if you have some of your own you'd be willing to tell the world, I'd love to share those too. Anonymously if you prefer.

Please get in touch via the Contact page.

OK....I'm convinced. Anything else?

I'll be joined by a very special (but very, very shy) guest, and this will also be my very first gig on my BRAND NEW ELECTRIC HARP!!!

Hope to see you there.
